OKAMI fightgear Rattan Stick 70cm (20 – 24 mm)

Rattan stick with a length of 70 cm, ideal for training Escrima, Kali or Arnis. Also for use in self-defense training (Krav Maga, Ju Jutsu). The advantage of rattan, since it is a grass and not wood, is that the stick does not break but rather frays. This greatly minimizes the risk of injury during training, plus the joint-friendly properties when training with a rattan stick. Unlike hardwood or PU, the stick absorbs more of the impact energy and less energy is released into the joints.

Rattan is a natural product, characteristic features are knots, bumps and air cracks in the material. Dark spots are branch branches or insect damage and are another indication of the natural and untreated origin, as are slight deviations in the size and surface quality of the sticks.

Our sticks are made from unpeeled, untreated rattan. These are much more stable than peeled pieces. They are shot, which means the knots are ground to avoid injuries. The sticks are straightened.
